Civio: Become American

Prepare for the U.S. citizenship test

Coming soon to the App Store

What Civio is

Civio is an iOS app that helps you prepare for the USCIS naturalization civics test — the 2025 version (128 official questions, Form M-1778). The content covers 127 of the 128 official questions, including the ones tied to your own state (governor, one of your U.S. senators, your state capital).

127 of 128 official questions

Taken directly from the official USCIS "128 Civics Questions and Answers" (2025 version), not paraphrased.

Exam Mode

20 questions like the real test: 17 general questions plus 3 tied to your state — not a random mix.

Spaced repetition

Leitner system — questions you get wrong come back more often, until you've mastered them.

All 50 states + D.C.

Choose your state and practice the governor, senator, and capital questions that apply to you.

Progress tracking

Overall and per-category accuracy, history, daily study streak.

100% offline

No account, no ads, no internet connection needed to use the app.

Civio is an independent app and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any other government institution. The content (questions, explanations) is for informational and educational purposes only and does not replace official materials. Always check current requirements directly with USCIS (uscis.gov/citizenship).

Privacy Policy

In short: your quiz progress stays on your device only — it's never sent anywhere. The one exception is subscription management through the RevenueCat service — details below. There's no behavioral analytics, no ads, and no other tracking SDKs.

What data is stored, and where

All the data listed below is stored exclusively on your device, using SwiftData (the local database provided by iOS). None of it leaves your device — the app has no server of its own and makes no internet connection, other than the one used for subscription management (see below).

  • Quiz answer history: for each question you answer, whether you got it right or wrong, and the date. Used to calculate the accuracy and progress shown in the app.
  • Spaced-repetition status: for questions you got wrong, a progress level and the date of the next review.
  • Daily study reminder settings: if you enable the reminder, the time you chose is stored.
  • Your selected state: for the correct composition of Exam Mode (17 general + 3 questions tied to your state).
  • A flag that you've completed onboarding, so it doesn't show again on every launch.

The app does not collect your name, email address, location, or any other information that could personally identify you, other than the anonymous identifier described under subscriptions below.

Notifications

If you enable the daily study reminder, the app asks for system permission to show local notifications — scheduled directly on your device, at the time you chose. These are not push notifications from a server; Civio has no server of its own.

Subscriptions and payments

Full access to the content (Exam Mode, spaced repetition) requires a subscription or the one-time "Lifetime Access" purchase. Category quizzes are free and don't require a subscription. To manage subscriptions and verify purchases, Civio uses the RevenueCat service, which receives:

  • an anonymous user/device identifier that RevenueCat generates to link the subscription to your app installation;
  • transaction information (product purchased, date, subscription status) provided by the App Store as part of the normal purchase flow.

The actual payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — neither Civio nor RevenueCat has access to your card details. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy. The rest of the app's functionality has nothing to do with this service and stays local.

What the app does NOT do

  • It does not use any analytics/tracking services.
  • It does not show ads.
  • It does not create a user account or require sign-in (the subscription is tied to your Apple Account, managed by the App Store).
  • It does not sync data via iCloud or any other cloud service.
  • It does not transmit information to external servers, other than what's strictly necessary for subscription verification through RevenueCat/App Store.

Deleting your data

Since all data is stored exclusively locally, you can delete it completely at any time by uninstalling the app from your device. There is no server-stored data that would require a separate deletion request.

Children

The app does not intentionally collect data from anyone, regardless of age — including children — because it does not collect data from anyone at all, by design.

Changes to this policy

If features are added that would change how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the date at the top of this section will reflect the change.
